Journey with a Saint

During capacity building workshop for CERC Regulation on Sharing of Transmission Charges and losses in Kolkata and Guwahati, I had the opportunity to travel with Sh S.K. Soonee, CEO of POSOCO , the system operator of India. While lot of learning happened during this journey on personal virtues of honesty and intergrity, in regulatory sphere also a Regulator learn lot from a operator.

How new institutions are to be built to take up new challenges in power sector where due to dynamics of system and new responsibly given by regulator , work of System operator is need to be viewed in enlarged landscape not limited by run of the mill tariff orders.

Also administrators and politicians need to educated about the power sector problem .CIGRE chairman advice to devote 5% of our time on this was quite interesting.

Also Richard Buckminster Fuller, vision of world energy Grid at http://www.geni.org/ for solving not only problem of energy but also to ensure world peace is very interesting concept.

How people protect their proposal (PPP) may result in obstructing the unbiased vision of viewing the things in right prospective ,was good learning for a regulator .

The need of training through a conversion of CFO and CEO:

CFO:What is the use of training , if these officer left the organization?
CEO: What would happened if they are not given training and they remain with organization?

Sometime knowledge comes to you through coincidence but is also a part of great design to transform you.
thanks
